Hello, Everyone,
I had a great time on the church youth retreat to Wisconsin. It started snowing Saturday afternoon, but it didn't accumulate enough to go inner tubing. They have this great tubing hill that then slides out over a frozen pond, and if you have some good momentum going, you slide out quite a ways over the pond. It is so much fun!!! And then we make trains where we link together with our feet, and those are great. But, even without the inner tubing, we had a lot of fun. It's just fun being together with the kids, and we generally have a lot of adults go, too. This year, there were nine adults, so I really enjoy spending time with them, too.
I did miss Scott. I don't know...just having one person who wants to make sure we walk together from the cabin to the lodge...I don't know how far that is, but it's a bit of a distance, and you make tons of those trips. And even though we have this opportunity at our house, it's fun to do up there...just stand out in the quiet and look up at the starry sky at night and...I don't know exactly how to describe it, but sort of drink in the peace of it all. I mean, I did that when I was up there, but it was always so neat to do that with Scott. And then of course, there's all the banter and fun with the kids and other adults. Just like everything else, it's more fun when you're sharing the experience with somebody special. But still, I did fine, and it gave me a chance to talk more with some of the adults who haven't gone on this retreat much and relish the time with the other adults who, like me, are fixtures there.
Anyway, I took today off work so I could recuperate from the very busy days and short nights that make up this weekend. I didn't get up until 10:30 this morning. Now, I have some stuff I want to get done before I get back in the groove of work.
